great scale . I had no scale and need to lose some weight. I bought this because it is light weight unlike my parent's which weighs a lot and it turns off automatically in 10 seconds. It runs on an included lithium battery and I imagine would last a couple years in the scale. To activate you just step on it. Also compared to other scales my weight is 2.7 pounds lighter, I don't know if that is because the others are incorrect or if this one is slightly incorrect and not the others.
