Just 100 examples of the new M3 Coupe Frozen Silver Edition will be made, each finished in a new matt-finish Frozen Silver metallic paint finish that's introduced on a BMW for the first time.

This is set off by a unique set of details: matt black alloys, Dark Chrome exhaust tailpipes (as it's an M car, there are four of them) with side gills and kidney grille surround to match, plus eye-catching Jet Black bonnet air intakes. A high-gloss Shadowline exterior trim kit is the finishing touch on the moody new look for the BMW M3.
Inside, Novillo leather features on the seats, with Palladium leather armrests and inserts. The steering wheel is Alcantara (like the E46 M3) and there are ample swathes of carbon fibre trim to underline the sporting air.
Each owner will be able to show off their limited edition status thanks to a plaque on the centre console - but they can't boast exactly which of the 100 it is: the inscription simply reads 'one of 100'...
First drive: BMW M3 GTS
In all, the BMW M3 Coupe Frozen Silver Edition boasts equipment worth £9,000, yet the list price is only £4,000 higher, at £58,720. It goes on sale on 1 June 2012, so eager buyers have plenty of time to line up for one of the 100 Britain-only cars.
The model has been launched as part of BMW M GmbH's 40th anniversary celebrations: we can expect more special models like this as the year ticks on.
Oh, and BMW adds that we shouldn't think this is a runout special. Yes, the E91 M3 has been around for a while, but sales aren't tailing off despite its age. Indeed, last year, they grew 10 per cent, to 789 new M3 Coupes delivered to British customers...
