Independent Team Formed to Probe Susno Duadji's Report

Independent Team Formed to Probe Susno Duadji's Report, The National Police Chief, Gen. Police Bambang Hendarso Danuri, has formed a team to probe the suspicion of case brokering within the police, as accused by former chief detective Comr. Gen. Susno Duadji. The team consists of members from the National Police and the National Commission on the Police.

"The police chief has formed an independent team. This is good news," said chief of the judicial mafia task force, Kuntoro Mangkusubroto after meeting the police chief at the police HQ, Wednesday.

The meeting included other members of the task force, such as Yunus Husein, Mas Achmad Santosa, Darmono, and the task force secretary Denny Indrayana. Representing the police are the chief detective Ito Sumardi and police spokesman Insp. Gen. Edward Aritonang.

Kuntoro stated that the task force has high hopes that the police will be open and will follow through with the suspicion of case brokering, which implicates a number of high officials in the National Police who handled Gayus T. Tambunan's case. "We are counting on the police to do something."

Kuntoro is confident that with the joint efforts from the task force, police, and AGO, then the Rp. 25 billion bribery case will be closed soon. "It will be solved as best as possible and thoroughly."

The task force has also met the Attorney General Hendarman Supandji yesterday. The general attorney has formed a team to examine Gayus' case because he suspects a misconduct in handling the case by his institution.

The attorney general's suspicion has been informed to the press, but the police chief hasn't met the press after his meeting with the task force.
