Nokia E7 premier smartphone is coming to 3 Mobile in the new year complete with Symbian

Nokia E7 premier smartphone is coming to 3 Mobile in the new year complete with Symbian ; The Nokia E7 smartphone will see a release early in the new year according to 3 Mobile. The feature-packed device was originally revealed during the Nokia World event back in September, but has been keeping a low profile ever since. Now though, the 3 Mobile network has announced that it will carry the handset, described by Nokia as a ‘premier business class’ affair.

With an impressive specification that includes a very spacious four-inch Amoled touchscreen featuring 640x360 resolution and a slide-out QWERTY keyboard, the phone looks to tick all the usual smartphone boxes. An eight-megapixel camera is likely to be up to the standard of other snapping tools on recent models such as the Nokia N8, albeit with a slightly lower specification.

However, adding to the mix is the fact that the handset will also offer users support for video and conference calling, a raft of powerful email tools plus a decent 16GB of storage built-in to cope with the larger stashes of data that’ll be used as a result. With business users in mind, Nokia will also include QuickOffice Dynamic Premium, which professionals can call upon to work on their files for formats including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

The only potential downside that may prove offputting for some is the presence of the Symbian 3 operating system. This is an OS that has been well publicised as having a few idiosyncrasies, and the continued bad user experience delivered to many existing Nokia owners may be enough to make them look elsewhere for their next handset purchase.

The price tag of this device is thought to be in the Nokia N8 ballpark but, despite the impressive specification, the E7 could find it hard to pull in the punters. Having lots of features is one thing, being able to use them easily is another. And that’s exactly where the Symbian OS divides opinion.
