A very large tornado touches down and tears across the area early Wednesday evening in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. Police said there were reports of major damage and downed trees.
They said many people called 911 saying they were trapped inside homes and businesses.
The University of Alabama is located in Tuscaloosa but there is no word on damage at the school. School officials say they are in the process of checking on students.
