Following the price cut in Apple iPad tablets in US by $100, company has slashed prices of all versions of Apple iPad in India. The overall rates have been dropped by $75. With this cut, both versions of 16GB iPad (both Wi-Fi and 3G+Wi-Fi) have become significantly cheaper than iPad 2. The next generation iPad is available at price of Rs. 35,990 on eBay India portal.

Now the iPad 16 GB Wi-Fi only is available at price of Rs. 24,500 whereas 3G version is at Rs. 31,900. 32GB Wi-Fi only is in the market for Rs. 29,500 and 3G version at Rs. 36,900. The 64GB Wi-Fi and 3G iPad is available at price Rs. 41,900 in India.

The Indian market is different now compared when iPad was launched. Now Indian market has Notion Ink Adam tablet which is considered to be one of the most appealing tablet against Apple iPad. Also other players like Motorola Xoom, RIM BlackBerry Playbook and Samsung Galaxy Tab which will make entry in Indian tablet market and will make the game tough for iPad 2.

Though there is no official information on launch of iPad 2 in India. However given the past history of Apple in launching its products in India and other developing countries, it is not expected to launch in near future. People will be able to buy from grey markets and online stores. Apple launched iPad in India few weeks before only and was critisized by many people that Steve Jobs is taking Indian market like a dumping ground. Other Apple products like iPod and iPhone were launched in India much after their debut in US markets. Currently also only 3G and 3GS version of iPhone are being sold in India where in US and other developed markets iPhone 5 is making headlines.

The iPad 2 will be available in US stores on March 11th and will be launched in 26 other countries on March 25th.
