World Top Stories News - Sprint and Verizon Version of the Samsung Galaxy S2 May Have New Names : A recent report has pointed out that the Sprint (NYSE:S) edition of the well-liked Samsung Galaxy S2 will not be given the moniker the Samsung Within. The report revealed that the Samsung Galaxy S2 of Sprint will be dubbed as the Samsung Epic Touch 4G.

Although the Samsung Galaxy S2 has yet to show itself in the US market, reports on its release date may come within the month. An official from Samsung had earlier revealed that the popular smartphone from Samsung Electronics (SEO:005930) will make its first appearance by August.

Observers have indicated that the version of Verizon (NYSE:VZ) will enter the market before Sprint’s version of the trendy Samsung Galaxy S2. The Verizon version will likely be released within the month while Sprint’s version will enter the market by September.

With the new moniker, some observers have indicated that the Samsung Galaxy S2 will be linked to one of the successful Android smartphones in the lineup of Sprint. The Samsung Epic 4G was impressive when it was released and has set a high standard with its remarkable full QWERTY keyboard.

Observers have also noted that the specifications of the Samsung Galaxy S2 or the Samsung Epic Touch 4G will likely be able to cope with the high expectations of the consumers and add to the already impressive sales of the device in the international market.

Aside from the name-change, reports have indicated that support for 4G WiMAX will also become one of the features of the Samsung Galaxy S2 of Sprint.

A separate report has also revealed that the Samsung Galaxy S2 of Verizon will also enter the market under a different name. The report indicated that Verizon’s version of the device will have the moniker ‘Stratosphere’. The report indicated that the new moniker was hinted by the support page of Verizon which showed support for ‘stratosphere’ although it was taken down after a while.

The accuracy on the change of the name for the version of Verizon was changed from Samsung Function to Stratosphere remains to be seen and users can simply wait until the Samsung Galaxy S2 will finally become available in the US market within the month or by September
