iphone 3g alarm not working - iPhone Alarm Problems Continue

iphone 3g alarm not working - iPhone Alarm Problems Continue : Apple may have thought that with the turn of the New Year, they would leave many of the recent problems to strike their headline grabbing iPhones. Just last year, there was a well known problem with any handset (from iPhone 3G up to the current iPhone 4) which updated the OS version via iTunes. This error cause any recurring alarms previously set to……well not reoccur!

Another problem, this time specifically with the iPhone 4, there were many issues regarding its ability, or lack of, to hold onto a signal and allow the iPhone user to do the simplest of things, such as send a text message or make a call.

Now, there has been another problem with the iPhone’s built in alarm, which is found in the Clock app. The new error has prevented the alarm from working at all. Users who have tried the temporary fix of setting single alarms (which worked with the previous alarm bug), have found that this time it does not work.

This has caused no end of problems for people who rely on their iPhone as an alarm clock to wake up on time for work, or to remind them to make an appointment or catch a train/plane.

Apple has already responded to the effect that they know the problem, and it will be fixed tomorrow (January 3rd). They have not explained why the alarm fails to work at present, but this is no shock given previous secrecy from Apple regarding any of their products or their bugs.

People who own an iPhone could be forgiven for being a bit skeptical at the promise of a fix in this update, as if it was something so easily fixed, why was it not identified in the first place. Also, if previous problems have happened after updating the OS on whatever iPhone model you own, why should this time be different?!?

The numbers of people who this is affecting worldwide is quite significant, with iPhone 4 handset sales alone estimated to be approaching 2 million!

With millions on expensive monthly contracts, users could be forgiven for being a bit demanding. After all, you do not expect something which you are spending so much money on to have so many little bugs and errors.

If/When Apple release the iPhone 5 in the summer, as they tend to release a new iPhone every summer, could this latest problem to hit the iPhone cause many to go elsewhere for their next smartphone?
