Gunmen that Ethiopia's government said were from the neighbouring and rival country of Eritrea attacked the tourist group before dawn on Tuesday, killing five, wounding two and taking two hostage, Bereket Simon, the country's communications minister, said. Two Ethiopians were also taken hostage.
