New Nokia app offers Big Screen thrills for smartphones : Helps N8 and E7 users play their content on their tellies, Nokia's Beta Labs division has launched a new app, designed to help smartphone users play their content on their TVs.

Big Screen is available for the N8, and will also support the upcoming E7 handset. Both havd HDMI-out ports allowing them to be connected to HDTVs.

As soon as the connection is made, the Big Screen app launches, and displays available media content on the screen.

Nokia also says that external Bluetooth controllers - including Nintendo's Wiimote - can be configured to control it. "Big Screen provides a platform for Nokia to deliver more home entertainment services to users of the Nokia N8 and Nokia E7," says Nokia Symbian Smartphones head Jo Harlow.
