The 7 inch Samsung Galaxy Tab’s 3G+Wi-Fi prices in Australia Selling for $299 AUD

The 7 inch Samsung Galaxy Tab’s 3G+Wi-Fi prices in Australia Selling for $299 AUD : Samsung Galaxy Tab – the original 7 inch version – has had its chance. It’s done reasonably well as the first Android tab to launch in markets and it’s only reasonable now to make way for the Honeycomb tablets that are on the way. Why, even Samsung will be releasing its 8.9 inch and 10.1 inch Honeycomb Samsung Galaxy Tabs soon.

The 7 inch Samsung Galaxy Tab’s prices have been slashed in an effort to clear stocks at many locations but the best deal yet comes from Australia where the Samsung Galaxy Tab Wi-Fi+3G (unlocked) is selling for $299 AUD till May 3.

You may argue that a Froyo tab’s no good anymore with Honeycomb tabs selling for as low as $400 in the US. Sure. But not everyone wants a 10.1inch tab and they’re only looking for a taste of Android at the lowest price point available. And hey … this Samsung Galaxy Tab is 3G enabled and unlocked. That amounts to something.

Leaving out the fact that the device will never get a Honeycomb

upgrade, the Samsung Galaxy Tab has a whole lot to recommend it. It features a 7-inch 1024×600 capacitive touchscreen with Gorilla glass, 1 GHz single-core Hummingbird processor, powerful SGX540 GPU, 512MB RAM, 16GB internal memory, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GPS, 3mp back camera with autofocus and LED flash, 1.3mp front camera for video chat, microSD support up to 32GB, unlocked internal SIM card, Google Apps and access to Android Market. The Android 2.2 OS has Samsung’s inevitable TouchWiz User Interface on top and it works well.

And if you’re really keen on Honeycomb, an unofficial port is available. That is, if you don’t mind hacking your device.

The tab is available from JB Hi-Fi and Telstra for $299 AUD or $321 USD. The offer is on till May 3, 2011 so don’t wait too long.
