iPhone 4 vs Samsung Galaxy S2 & HTC Sensation

iPhone 4 vs Samsung Galaxy S2 & HTC Sensation : While the HTC Thunderbolt was eyed as the main competitor against the recently launched Verizon iPhone 4, there are now new members of the "fight club" that make things a lot more complicated. We're talking about the upcoming dual-core Samsung Galaxy S2 and HTC Sensation Android phones. So lets get to it! iPhone 4 vs Samsung Galaxy S2 & HTC Sensation :

Round 1 (the Gingerbreads): HTC Sensation vs Samsung Galaxy S2

Both these upcoming Android smartphones resemble each other in more ways than. Both have 4.3-inch displays (Super AMOLED Plus for the S2 and qHD for the Sensation), 1.2GHz dual-core processors and 8-megapixel cameras. The difference aren't great but they do give the Samsung Galaxy S2 a slight advantage. These include bigger internal storage (16GB and 32GB options), NFC chip, 1GB RAM (HTC Sensation runs on 768MB) and overall smaller dimensions and weight. One flaw however with the Galaxy S2 is its resolution (480x800) which not only makes it fail in comparison to the HTC Sensation but also the next phone, the Verizon iPhone 4.

Verizon iPhone 4

The only non-Android on the list, while the AT&T iPhone 4 launched back in mid-2010, its Verizon variant manages to hold its ground despite a late February release. It packs a lower 720p video recording on its 5-megapixel camera compared to the above two counterparts (1080p and 8MP on S2 and Sensation) but boasts the highest resolution display from any phone on our list, a Retina Display. This coupled with an App Store that's hard to beat, the Verizon iPhone attempts to make up for its lower specced hardware by offering a great media centric experience.

Lastly while we love the Aluminum body on the Samsung Galaxy S2 and HTC Sensation, the Verizon iPhone with its mix stainless steel and glass body feels more luxurious.

Bottom line

On paper, if you're after the possibly best hardware that is currently packed into smartphones today, the dual-core HTC Sensation and Samsung Galaxy S2 are your best bet. And while the iPhone 5 may be delayed until September, we believe the iPhone 4 will be able to hold its own for the next few months despite the shortcomings. What it lacks in hardware due to its age, it tries to make up in many other ways (high quality game apps, infinite accessories, excellent HDR camera effects, Retina Display for easier ebook reading and much more).
