More than a dozen Acehnese women took part in the event, walking the catwalk before the jury, answering questions on coffee and Acehnese culture, and demonstrating their English language skills.
Contest steering committee chairman Salman Farisi said the contest aimed to select a “coffee envoy”, who could promote Acehnese coffee to international communities.
“We’re looking for an Aceh woman capable of promoting Acehnese coffee at the global level. Acehnese coffee has now gained international recognition like Brazilian coffee,” Salman said
