According to Us magazine, Maynard, 25, has returned the engagement ring that Womack, 38, gave her when he proposed on the finale in November on ABC.

"It's completely over now," a show insider says.

Maynard was spotted last week in her native Charlotte, N. C. without a ring on her left finger, fueling reports that the two have called it quits.

With Womack living in Austin, Texas, and Maynard in Charlotte, where she is raising her 5-year-old daughter, their relationship has not always been easy, the couple has acknowledged in the past.

"It has been a bumpy couple of months for us," they said in a joint statement last month, according to People. "Our priority right now is to focus on our relationship."

Reps for the show have yet to provide a comment.

Womack, once considered one of the most hated bachelors in the U.S. appeared on last season's show to redeem himself. In his first try as "The Bachelor" in 2007, he rejected all 25 possible love interests, the first in show history to do so.
