end of the world may 21st predictions - harold camping, end of the world, end of the world 2011, end of the world predictions, end of the world saturday : We are just hours away from what some are saying is going to be the end of the world as we know it, as a California man is predicting that Saturday is "Judgment Day."

California-based radio host Harold Camping says the Rapture will occur at 6 p.m. Israel Daylight Time -- or 11 a.m. Eastern time -- on May 21st. Believers will be taken to Heaven, and then five months later the world will end.

Camping says, "There's going to be a great earthquake such has never been. It's will be so great that all the tombs everywhere in the world are going to be thrown open. That's going to require a granddaddy earthquake."

Jennifer Beahan is a non-believer. She says, "We think that it is all really silly." Beahan works for the Center for Inquiry, a non-profit organization, whose members are atheist, agnostic, or secular humanist.

"His predictions are based on biblical numerology," says Beahan. "Just picking out numbers and making up dates and adding and subtracting them. They are based on his interpretation of the Bible."

Although there are some who believe Camping's prediction, many don't. The subject has become fodder on the Internet. One Facebook page invites people to a "Post Rapture Looting Party." Half a million people say they will attend. In Georgia, a television weatherman predicted some very hot temperatures after the Rapture for those who are still left on earth.

Beahan says "People have been predicting the Rapture for thousands of years, and none have come true." Whether you believe or not, the outcome of Camping's prediction will be known soon. Will Judgment Day really come on May 21st? Or will it be another prediction that doesn't come true?
