Why do so many Christians believe that May 21st 2011 is Judgment Day

Why do so many Christians believe that May 21st 2011 is Judgment Day : "Surely the Lord GOD will do nothing, but he revealeth his secret unto his servants the prophets. (Amos 3:7). Just as God provided warning for the people in Noah's day, and for the people of Nineveh, God will provide ample time and opportunity for his prophets to warn us. I do not believe that these folks are prophets.
